Opening the intranet track will be French-based intranet expert Jane McConnell, who will present the latest findings from her annual Global Intranet Trends report.
In the 2010 survey, Jane identified five key trends around which intranets are being reshaped to better correspond to how people work. These were:
- The front-door intranet
- The team-oriented intranet
- The people-focused intranet
- The real-time intranet
- The place-independent intranet
In Aarhus in November, Jane will share the latest insights you need to make sound decisions about how to take your intranet to the next level. As always, the report is based on a comprehensive global survey open to all intranet managers.
From my perspective, I’ve noticed 2 key intranets so far in 2010:
- Many intranet managers have taken it upon themselves to fill an increasingly obvious management gap caused by lack of support by senior executives. Coming close to losing their own job at times, these intranet managers are increasingly focusing on good governance
- SharePoint 2010 might be the talk of town, but out-of-the-box intranet vendors have been the winners so far making inroads with their focused offerings and promise to reduce implementation time and cost.
Have you seen the same? What are your predictions for global intranet trends for 2011?
