Biography

  Erik Mortensen

Erik Mortensen has more than 10 years’ experience in communication, marketing and journalism. Erik holds a Master’s Degree in communication and media sciences. As both editor and web team leader at the Copenhagen Metro, Erik is responsible for a number of different media, printed as well as online. But dictated by the new Metro circle line, which is being build in Copenhagen as we speak, focus is on online communication and the ambitious implementation of ‘the world’s best dialogue platform’ for the many neighbours to the 22 huge building sites.

The Copenhagen Metro

Voted the ‘World best Metro’ in 2008, the Copenhagen Metro is driver-less, has 22 stations and two lines which run from suburban Vanløse to Vestamager and Copenhagen Airport. In collaboration with the municipal governments of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg, the Danish government has concluded a contract on the expansion of the existing Metro through the addition of a city circle line (Cityringen). Cityringen will be completed by 2018.

Track: Online communication
Conference Day #2, Thursday November 4th, 10.30-12.00

Your company or organisation has had a printed newspaper or magazine for ages as well as a good website. Both channels perform well. Stakeholders, content providers, readers, users etc. are happy about the two news channels. The journalists in marketing and/or communication do a great job producing the magazine. The web folks do a great job with the site(s).

But today, deep into the Web 2.0 era, do you get the best out of your content on both channels? Are you able to present your magazine content for your web users in a way that is efficient, professional and aligned with known best practices in your CMS? At the Copenhagen Metro we have found a solution that works for us. And it is born within our Sitecore CMS.

Re-thinking our magazine’s ‘life on the web’ has:

  • increased reader feedback on news and articles
  • created a new yet more dynamic and smooth editorial process for both magazine and web
  • given the website 50 percent more news readers

PS: This is a promise: Not a word about Facebook, PDFs, live papers etc. This is web and CMS we’re talking about today…
