NAV

In 2005 the government in Norway decided to merge The National Insurance organisation (Trygdeetaten), The National Employment Service (Aetat) and The Social Welfare System (Sosialtjenesten). As a result, the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) was established July 1st 2006. NAV plays a broad participatory role in the world of work and society, and contributes to the financial security of the individual. This depends on close interaction with the user, working life and local authorities, and a sharper focus on people with special needs in relation to the labour market and others in a challenging life situation.

www.nav.no is one of the most visited internet pages in Norway, and has more than 1.400.000 unique visitors a month.

Presentation

Getting budget for non-commercial online projects & services

Case: NAV

Track: Digital strategy
Conference Day #1, Wednesday November 3rd, 16.00-17.00

In this presentation Magnus will present how he managed to get funding for a project to establish “Your NAV” that collected the different services behind a common log in. He will also present how they have calculated an actual value for some of the upcoming projects. Getting budget for these projects requires convincing key management stakeholders using a combination of visualisation of the present status, calculation of the costs and a comparison between the costs of developing online services and their potential value.
