Their research is based on strong academic disciplines and research environments, which are often multidisciplinary. This subsequently brings with it a number of challenges as researchers from different fields work together in order to create new knowledge and solve problems.

In 2009 Karlstad University, Sweden, built an entirely new approach to Web Strategy. Since web as a technology is becoming more and more important to all parts of the organization we needed a new approach to Web Strategy that included the whole organization and not only the traditional perspective of Marketing and Information. The solution to this dilemma was to create a strategic initiative called “The New Web”, with a mandate to include the entire organization's needs and potential use of Web technology. Our main challenge was to create an environment where we could identify not only current needs within the organization but also plan and prepare for all the amazing potential of coming new web technologies. We managed to create a dynamic group that not only handled the immediate business needs but also created a long-term plan that gained approval from the whole business.
One of the biggest obstacles to strategic planning is to make the deliverable dynamic enough to cater to a rapidly changing world but also to be enough static to help the long term business planning process.
We can show you how we did this.
