Tutorial

CMS selection

Tutorial Day, Tuesday May 3rd, 9.00 am - 12.00 am

CMS selection is a cornerstone of any large online project. If you find the right system and a good system integrator everything goes rather smoothly: You can focus on the business objectives and on improving the online offerings. But what if you select a system that isn't aligned with the organizational strategy and way of working or your system integrator makes the wrong decisions in the implementation phase? In this interactive tutorial Theresa Regli from Real Story Group, Brian Bentzen from the Danish National Board of Social Services and Peter Sejersen from J. Boye will dissect the process and provide a practical guide on how to select a CMS.

In addition to covering the process of selecting a CMS and system integrator, the actual technology marketplace will also be covered in order to provide an overview of the different vendors. In this part the speakers will also give valuable advice on how to communicate with vendors and what to look for when evaluating systems.

What you will learn

  1. Getting started: What is required from the outset and how do you get it right from the beginning?
  2. Process overview: Which steps are required in order to choose the right CMS? What are the pros and cons of each step?
  3. Marketplace: Which vendors and systems are out there (both in a US and an European context) - and what to look for when considering the options

Who should attend

This tutorial is for everyone involved with selecting a CMS who is interested in getting an overview of both the process and the marketplace.

Complimentary research

Participants will get a complimentary copy of the J. Boye report Best Practices for Selecting a CMS as well as a sample chapter of The Web CMS Report from the Real Story Group.
