Tutorial

A New Web Strategy: get a good grip on all your online channels

Tutorial Day, Tuesday May 3rd, 1.00 pm - 4.00 pm

There's a lot of social media talk, experimenting and ... failure. Since many social media projects are tool driven, non-aligned experiments -that are enforced by some individual or CEO- chances of success are quite small. In many cases we cannot even tell if it's a success or a failure, because there's no alignment with the organization's business strategy.

Erik will guide you in mixing your social media initiatives with other channels in your web strategy. This is a genuine workshop, so be prepared for 3 hours of really hard work!

At the end of this tutorial you will have a web strategy -and a method for creating more strategies- that you can start working on the next day. This tutorial is a good fit for experienced web, communications, IT, and business managers and professionals who are looking for a way to channel the social media 'pressure' in their organization or who want to really get the most out of social media.

Presentation

Looking for Trouble

Track: Online corporate communication
Conference Day #2, Thursday May 5th, 1.00 pm - 1.45 pm

There are many change management guidelines and theories. Still many IT projects fail due to lack of user acceptance. In this session, Erik M. Hartman will challenge the classic change management theories. He will explain why they don't work. And why managing a (web) project is looking for trouble. Erik will explain why looking for trouble is the first thing to do. And why you should really worry when there's no trouble at all. This session is a 'must visit' for (web) project managers and team members who experienced one or more failed web projects and are looking for an alternative way to be successful.
