Biography

Unity Stoakes

Unity Stoakes is the co-founder and president of OrganizedWisdom, an expert-driven platform for health and wellness and is on a mission to transform people’s health by leveraging the power of innovation, technology, data, design, and community collaboration. Unity, is a serial entrepreneur, and active in the Health 2.0, social media and Quantified Self communities serving as a long-time advocate for helping people get better access to health information and services.

Prior to OrganizedWisdom, Unity helped build several companies including Middleberg Interactive, The Privacy Council and Promotions.com, a company that he helped take public on NASDAQ in 1999 with his current business partners in OrganizedWisdom.

Unity is a founding member of the Society of Participatory Medicine and a mentor at Blue Print Health. He received his bachelor’s degrees in Communications and Political Science from Boston University. Unity resides in New York City.

One phenomenon that permeates all aspects of online health; patient engagement; self service; online marketing of anything related to personal health is the issue of trust. How can the necessary level of trust be established and maintained without the human interaction; the interaction between the patient and the clinician / consultant, which most stakeholders would traditionally have considered fundamental. How should the conversation, consultation and ongoing communication be approached? We have gathered a panel of stakeholders who have each grappled with these challenges and each made great strides in their respective fields to highlight and explore some of the many questions. Hear their experiences, ask questions and challenge their thinking at this fascinating session.
