About Joanna Popper
Joanna Popper is strategic and creative media executive with a track record of building successful global multiplatform partnerships, programs and brands to drive revenue, engagement, ratings, buzz, brand love and impact. She has Silicon Valley and Hollywood experience in TV, Film, Digital, Social, VR/AR, Publishing and OTT. She has extensive experience in TV and Digital Content Development and Marketing and has a passion for VR and creating impactful stories in an innovative and immersive way.
Most recently she’s been the EVP of Media and Marketing at Singularity University, responsible for content, video production, digital/social media, brand, marketing and PR. She is currently media consulting for Singularity University and was instrumental in developing Singularity University’s partnership with “The Awesome Show” a TV series on science, tech and innovation with NBC, Mark Burnett and Chris Hardwick. She also developed VR programming including “The Next Big Thing” and online content with Ray Kurzweil.
Prior to Singularity University, Joanna held leadership roles at Comcast NBCUniversal, DHL, McKinsey & Co and JP Morgan Chase. At NBCUniversal she led Consumer Marketing for Telemundo where she launched top hits such as “La Voz Kids,” “El Senor de los Cielos” and “La Reina del Sur.” She collaborated across NBCUniversal to launch properties including “Fast & Furious,” “Despicable Me,” Top Chef,” The Voice,” The Olympics, “Queen of the South,” Harry Potter theme park rides, etc.. She was responsible for Marcomm including advertising, digital, social, experiential, licensing and merchandising, Upfront content and messaging, and worked closely with across NBCUniversal on films, TV shows, theme park attractions and digital launches as Symphony lead.
